What tools do I really need beyond a tapping block and spacers, and how should I prep a slightly uneven concrete subfloor with hairline cracks? Also, how long should planks acclimate, and what’s a safe expansion gap near baseboards and doors?

Prime the slab and use self-leveling underlayment for dips >1/8 in, feather-finish for small lows, and epoxy/patch the hairline cracks; let SLC cure per bag (usually 4–24 hrs) before laying click-LVP. Tools worth having: mixing paddle/bucket, gauge rake/smoother, 6 ft level, pull bar, and an undercut saw; acclimate 48 hrs and keep a 1/4–3/8 in expansion gap, with T-molds at thresholds.
